Phototronic is a one technician shop by design and choice. Mike Trost is that camera repairman. If you like, when you call about your repair you will have an opportunity to talk to Mike. He has worked on photographic equipment, audio visual equipment, and video equipment for NASCAR, the NFL, and Hollywood, numerous Universities and public and private Schools, various Magazines and Newspapers, Local, State and Federal Agencies, as well as both Professional and Amateur gear from down the street and around the globe, from the vintage classics to the latest digital. Most certainly, face to face, or telephone contact with his local and regional customers is enjoyable and important to Mike. For without customers there would be no cameras to repair. Often times the customer relaying the history of the failure of their equipment enlightens the camera repairman himself and he will have a genuine interest in this back story. Mike prides himself in maintaining superior service by tapping into accumulated knowledge while discovering new insights... and by treating each customer and their equipment with the utmost care and consideration.
A note from Mike - I have been repairing camera equipment since 1979 and owned and operated my camera repair shop since 1980. What I once worked on that was considered new and innovating equipment is now considered vintage. So I suppose that would make me vintage also. No matter, I still enjoy my customers and the opportunity to bring their equipment back to good working order. I can see my self doing nothing else that would be more gratifying with my time and will continue to offer my camera repair experience as long as the fates allow.
